Frequently Asked Questions

My AC is not working correctly, what should I do?

Turn it off. You could be low on refrigerant and that would cause your coil to freeze. Once that thaws it will create water on your furnace, and that will rust your furnace. Do not run your AC while it is not working.  If the coil is frozen the service tech will not be able to work on your AC.

My furnace is very noisy. What could be the cause?

The combustion air inducer (CAI) will grow noisier with age and wear. A noisy furnace could indicate that the CAI will soon stop working.

How often should my furnace and air conditioner get serviced?

They should be serviced once a year.

When do spring air conditioner checks start?

The weather needs to be 60F or warmer to get proper measurements on the refrigerant pressures.

There is a lot of water by my furnace. What is wrong?

Excessive water by the furnace is often caused by an old humidifier pad that needs to be replaced.

My equipment doesn't work and it's a weekend! Can you help?

If it’s an emergency we’ll make every effort to come, but there will be an extra service charge.

Do you clean duct work? If not, who does?

We do not clean ducts however, we recommend Americlean, and if you mention Graber Heating when requesting duct cleaning services, you will receive a discount. Cedar Rapids: 319-362-0604
