FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

My AC is not working correctly, what should I do?

Turn it off. You could be low on refrigerant and that would cause your coil to freeze. Once that thaws it will create water on your furnace, and that will rust your furnace. Do not run your AC while it is not working.  If the coil is frozen the service tech will not be able to work on your AC.

My furnace is very noisy. What could be the cause?

The combustion air inducer (CAI) will grow noisier with age and wear. A noisy furnace could indicate that the CAI will soon stop working.

How often should my furnace and air conditioner get serviced?

Annual maintenance is recommended to keep your equipment working like it should.

When do spring air conditioner checks start?

We prefer the temperature to be 60 degrees or warmer to get proper measurements on the refrigerant pressures.

There is a lot of water by my furnace. What is wrong?

Excessive water by the furnace could be caused by a frozen A-coil or an old humidifier pad that needs to be replaced. It could also indicate a plugged drain or a leak. Shut off your equipment and give us a call.

My equipment doesn't work and it's a weekend! Can you help?

There is always someone on call for the weekends and holidays. Leave a voicemail and we will get you taken care of as soon as possible.

Do you clean duct work? If not, who does?

We do not clean ducts however, we recommend Americlean, and if you mention Graber Heating when requesting duct cleaning services, you will receive a discount. Cedar Rapids: 319-362-0604
